The Faculty of Health Studies of the Technical University of Liberec prepared a project, which uses virtual reality as part of their student´s training. Moreover, it can be utilized for a drill-type emergency event, which simulates a mass casualty incident, involving the cooperation of all the bodies of the integrated rescue service in the Liberec Region.
It is a modern teaching method, which will enable to create methodology for training of the bodies of the integrated rescue service when it comes to triage of the persons injured during a mass casualty incident. It can be also used as a supplementary method contributing to a joint training of the integrated rescue service.
The current pandemic is an example of a situation, where selected bodies of the integrated rescue service can be trained without need to meet in person, that is, avoiding the risk of contracting the disease. For that reason, it is necessary to suggest, create and introduce innovative ways of training which use virtual reality technology.
The programme allows to create infinite number of scenarios and simulations of real incidents and consequently train a great number of persons in a short time.
The Project received financial support from the Liberec Region.
