Visit from a Spanish University

Mr. Nestor Arana Arexolaleiba from Robotics and Automation Research Group from the Mondragon University visited the Faculty of Health Studies in late April 2022.

                                   

Our colleagues specializing in Biomedical Engineering showed him special equipment and medical equipment used when teaching future biomedical technicians and engineers. They also introduced plans and directions in the area of research at the faculty.

Later on they discussed possibilities of cooperation in specific areas, e.g. the project concerning a UV LED robot used for disinfection of gynaecological theatres, acoustic manifestations of intestinal peristalsis, electromagnetic compatibility of implanted electromagnetic devices, and acquisition and processing of biopotentials and their use in robotics, etc.

The Mondragon University engages in similar topics. There is a team focused on biomedical engineering, mainly on signal processing; therefore, there is potential for broadening further cooperation between the Faculty of Health Studies and the Mondragon University.

During Mr. Nestor´s visit there was a brief time to visit the surroundings of Liberec and thus meet his Czech colleagues in an informal way.
