Komárno Rescue 2022 - Paramedic Competition

The students of the Paramedic Study Programme at our faculty received an invitation from the Zamed Emergency Medical Service to take part in a competition of paramedic teams, which took place in Slovakia on August 22 – 24.

Our students visited the Emergency Medical Service in Komárno, where they learned about prehospital emergency care in Slovakia. The following day they participated in the 2022 Komárno Rescue competition, which was overlooked by experienced supervisors. The competition consisted of 6 medical emergency simulations. They included resuscitation of an adult and a child, treatment of a six-month-old infant hit by a car, leg amputation after a work incident and various other situations paramedics can encounter during their shifts.

Vojtěch Horák and Josef Žůrek, the student crew from our faculty, were the only student crew among the professional ones. They took a wonderful 6th place in the competition.

Our thanks go to both the students who represented our faculty in a challenging competition.
